WOMEN

Every woman is unique: Her own skin, her own style, her own look—her own beauty. So every woman’s beauty routine should be as unique as she is. That means different products, different colors, different styles. It’s confusing, even overwhelming at times. That’s where Simply Moore comes in—to open doors, to create a direction, and to give you a fresh approach that works. To get you started, here are a few simple guidelines all women should consider when establishing a makeup routine, no matter your skin tone, age, or ethnicity.

Foundation

Foundation should match your skin type, tone, and texture. Test foundation on a naked face (never the hand or wrist) by applying in a stripe at the jaw line and walking outside into the natural light. If it blends in and disappears, it’s the correct color. If you can see a contrast, it’s not the foundation for you.

Concealer

Concealer should be the same shade as the skin on your face—or one shade lighter. Darker shades will dull you out, while too-light versions can create the reverse-raccoon look.

Powder

Powder should never look heavy or cake-y. For dryer skin, powder should create a luminous, hydrated look. For oily skin, it should give a matte finish.

Eyebrows

Your brows are one of the most important features on your face. Keep them clean, defined, and uplifted.

Eye Shadow

Trade secret: If someone compliments you on your eye shadow, you should most likely remove it and start over. Good eye shadow should subtly bring out your eyes; that’s what you should be complimented on. Your eyes—not your eye shadow—should steal the stage.

Cheeks

Cheeks and lips are always the backup singers—never the lead (that role belongs to the eyes). If your cheeks stand out more than the eyes, you’ve got too much color on them.

Lips

Women are always looking for that perfect shade of lipstick. The reality is, there isn’t one. Lipstick should match your mood, so unless you’re always in one mood, you should have a selection. Are you feeling girl-next-door, or are you channeling glamour vixen tonight?
