ABOUT

Michael Moore has worked in the cosmetics industry since 1988 with brand leaders such as Bobbi Brown Essentials, Borghese, Chanel, Guerlain, and Estée Lauder. In New York City, he was often seen backstage during fashion week, supporting major designers such as Bill Blass, Joan Vass, Oscar de la Renta, Badgley Mischka, Bob Mackie, Chanel, Tommy Hilfiger and Vera Wang.

But eventually, the quality of the Colorado lifestyle—the healthy, natural atmosphere that inspires his technique—drew him out west, where he opened Simply Moore in Denver’s own center of chic, Cherry Creek North. “There is fresh air, and a connection to the ground out here,” Michael says. Developing a pure mineral makeup line was right on point with the natural and vibrant lifestyle Michael had sought, and which is manifested in everything Simply Moore teaches.

Today, Michael works regularly with print and television media for photo shoots, fashion content, and special events. His makeup artistry has graced publications (INStyle, Redbook, McCall’s, The New York Times, The Denver Post, The Rocky Mountain News, Australian Elle and Australian and German Vogue) and television shows (Oprah, The Today Show, E! Entertainment Television) in more than a dozen countries. And Michael has had the distinct pleasure of working with countless celebrities, royalty, and political figures.

Still, Michael brings it all back to one very special person who inspired him: His mother. “I always thought my mother was the most beautiful woman I ever saw,” Michael says. “There was nothing glamorous about her, with six kids on a farm in the Midwest, but you could always see her natural beauty. And while she always wanted to learn how to wear makeup to enhance her look, she felt intimidated walking into a department store.” With this in mind, Michael created his company as a haven where any person can walk through the door without judgment, truly look in the mirror, and finally realize how beautiful they can be.
